Review:
The Richard H. Driehaus Museum pays homage to the Gilded Age home of banker Samuel Mayo Nickerson and stands as one of the grandest residential buildings of 19th-century Chicago. Founded by Richard H. Driehaus in 2003, the house has been beautifully restored to its former glory and serves as an exquisite example of former architecture and design trends and techniques. Visitors to the museum are able to explore the past while meandering through the magnificent galleries and collections of elegant, historically accurate furnishings, décor, and artworks, including pieces from the Driehaus Collection of Fine and Decorative Arts by artists such as Louis Comfort Tiffany and the Herter Brothers.
