Visitors wanting to get a glimpse of the “real” Alaska, beyond the usual tourist areas, should consider a day trip or overnight getaway to Glacier View. Glacier View lies about 2 hours from Anchorage. Remote, wild and fabulous, Glacier view is one of the few places where you can get close to a glacier from the roadside. There are guides who will take you to explore the ice and in summer there are a plethora of outdoor activities on offer, including river rafting, zip-lining and endless hiking trails.
