Originally privately owned by Seattle millionaire William Pitt Trimble, in 1959 the state of Washington turned the whole of Blake Island into Blake Island State Park. With the views of the Seattle skyline and Olympic mountains and 5 miles of beach, this 475-acre park is a very popular destination for camping, hiking, boating, and enjoying the wilderness. Tillicum Village, located on the northeastern end of the island, exhibits Northwest Coast Indian culture, arts, and food. There are 7.5 miles of biking trails, 8 miles of hiking trails, and 1,500 feet of moorage for private boats.
