Ivar's was the vision of the late Ivar Haglund, who founded the Pacific Northwest institution in 1938. The restaurant continues to serve up classic Pacific Northwest seafood specialties today, offering 21 fast-casual seafood bar locations and three full-service restaurants, along with stadium operations at Cheney Stadium and Safeco Field. Award-winning seafood favorites are served up at the restaurant's Marysville location, including the restaurant's famed clams and chips platters and delicious Pacific Northwest clam chowder.

All fish is hand-cut and breaded daily onsite, served up in traditional recipes originally established by Haglund in the 1930s. Diners can choose from seafood favorites like jumbo prawns, clams, scallops, and oysters, all brought straight from Pacific Northwest fishing vessels, or enjoy grilled favorites like wild Alaska salmon or halibut served with coleslaw and cornbread. Full boat fish and chips specials are also served up, prepared with diners' choice of Alaska pollock, salmon, cod, or halibut.
