Review & FAQ:

Little River State Park is a charming state park located along the banks of the 850-acre Waterbury Reservoir, just outside the city of Waterbury within the majestic Mount Mansfield State Forest. The park's lands were once home to a pioneer settlement hosting over 50 area families and still preserves many pioneer-era remains, including former cemeteries, bridges, and old town roads that pay tribute to the ghost town. Throughout the 1930s, the park's lands were developed into a state park by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Today, it has become one of central Vermont's most popular public parks, offering opportunities for bass and trout fishing, water skiing, swimming, boating, and hiking throughout the year. 81 tent and RV campsites are offered for overnight stay, along with 20 lean-to sites and five overnight rental cabins. Remote backcountry campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis with permits.
