Review:

Perched at 2,000 meters above sea level, Erzurum is the highest major city in Turkey and is the best place to base yourself if you'd like to explore the eastern part of the country. A visit to the city isn't complete without a stop at the Citadel of Erzurum. Located on top of a hill in the city center, the citadel has a clock tower that can be climbed for great views of the city and the surrounding mountains. Another draw of the city is the nearby Palandöken Mountain, which turns into a bustling ski resort in the winter.
