Owned by the Romanian Philharmonic Society, the Romanian Athenaeum originally opened in 1888. The concert hall can be found in the center of Bucharest and is considered a significant landmark of the capital city. It is also the home of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, which was found in 1868. Art and architecture aficionados will love exploring the neoclassical building and its stunning interior and exterior. The beautiful ceiling spanning the auditorium and the frescoes that decorate the inside walls shouldn’t be missed; the frescoes were done by Romanian painter Costin Petrescu between 1934 and 1939.
