Review:

The Technical Museum of Slovenia is housed in Bistra Castle, a former monastery, built in 1255. It is south of the city, set in scenic gardens with a large fish pond and a forest nature trail. The castle was declared a cultural monument of national importance in 1951. The multi-faceted industrial past of Slovenia is explained in the 6000 square meter museum with several practical exhibits and hands on workshops, including baking, weaving and printing. An exhibition on the Written Word in Slovenia includes facsimiles of first edition books and the first printed Slovenian Bible. Several vehicles that were presented to the late President Tito of Yugoslavia are kept at the museum.
