No visit to Germany would be complete without taking a day trip to see Linderhof Palace, one of the most beautiful and impressive palaces in the country. Schloss Linderhof is located about 60 miles south-west of Munich and can be accessed by road in around 90 minutes. Once there you can join a guided tour of the sumptuous Baroque villa, the only palace which King Ludwig II of Bavaria was able to complete in his lifetime. The rooms of astonishingly lavishly appointed, and are reported to far exceed the French palaces on which it was fashioned.
