Drottninholm Palace is the best-preserved seventeenth-century palace in Sweden and is the royal family’s permanent residence. The palace is also one of the three World Heritage Sites in Stockholm. Highlights of the palace include the Baroque Garden, eighteenth-century theatre, Chinese Pavilion, and many salons from the seventeenth through nineteenth centuries. The palace and gardens were both designed by Nicodemus Tessin in 1681 and are open to the public for viewing year-round.
