Nestled in the lush vineyards of South Moravia in the Czech Republic, Mikulov is a wonderfully picturesque little town known for its rich history and its delicious wine. Much of the town's historic architecture is incredibly well-preserved, particularly in the central square, where highlights include a Baroque column and a historic fountain.
However, the biggest attraction is the Mikulov Chateau, which sits on a hill overlooking the town below and houses a museum with an excellent collection of local artifacts. The town
also serves as the starting point for the 40-mile Mikulov Wine Trail, which leads through the beautiful Mikulovská wine region.
