Review:

Prestonfield House was originally constructed in 1687 as a baroque estate surrounded by 20 acres of lavishly landscaped gardens. Today, the estate is operated as a five-star hotel, located approximately two miles from Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. Romantic guest rooms and suites are filled with period antiques and offer private seating and dining areas, plasma televisions, minibars, and free wireless internet. The hotel’s Rhubarb Restaurant serves complimentary daily breakfast and traditional Scottish fare at afternoon tea and dinner, and several public gathering spaces offer amenities such as drawing rooms and cocktail bars. The estate is also home to the James Braid-designed Prestonfield Golf Club, which was founded in 1920 and offers 18 holes set against the backdrop of Holyrood Park.
