The Alamo, an 18th century Spanish mission, has been converted into a museum that details the struggle for Texas’ independence from Mexico. Strolling the pedestrian walkway along the San Antonio River in downtown is a popular pastime for visitors and locals alike as it is lined with many interesting shops and tasty cafes. Summer in San Antonio brings temperatures that are unbearable for many, so February is a popular month to visit.
