Located near San Antonio, the Natural Bridge Caverns are the largest commercial caverns in Texas. The cave has a 60-foot long natural limestone bridge that crosses the amphitheater at the cavern's entrance, giving the caverns their name.

The span was created when a sinkhole collapsed under it. The caverns contain several beautiful and unique speleothems and other geological formations. The temperature in the cave is constant 70°F.

The guided tours of the caves go as deep as 180 feet below the surface, but there are undeveloped parts of the cavern reaching 230 feet.

Because of the porosity of the limestone rock, the caves are still forming and changing as the rainwater runs through them, dissolving the calcite to form speleothems.
