Review:
This gift of nature was renamed to honor Mr. William Goodrich Jones, who was considered to be the father of forestry in Texas. W. Goodrich Jones State Forest occupies 1,772 acres of land and has enjoyed the stewardship and protection of the Texas A&M Forest Service.
Today, this unique and dynamic forest has been of tremendous benefits in areas of research nature study, demonstrations, and education. It is hence serving as a role model to other forest and landowners. Some of its recreational attractions include bird watching, hiking, wildlife viewing, picnics and nearly 15 miles of trail for horseback riding. The forest has also enjoyed visitations from bikers who enjoy biking on its amazing landscape.
