Despite its small size, Marfa is a destination for tourists interested in the arts. One of the biggest draws here is the Chinati Foundation, a contemporary art museum founded by Donald Judd, which features both indoor and outdoor installations displayed on an old army base.

At certain times of the year, visitors also flock to the town to attend the many concerts, exhibitions, and festivals held at the Ballroom Marfa arts center.

Lucky visitors will also have the chance to see the Marfa Lights, mysterious glowing orbs that sometimes appear outside the town and can be seen from a special viewing platform. Chinati Hot Springs is one of the best hot springs in Texas.
