Located in Beaufort County, the Darrah Hall is a featured landmark of the Reconstruction Era National Park, a park which is dedicated to the Civil War’s reconstruction era which lasted from the beginning of the 1890s Jim Crow racial segregation up until 1900. Historically significant and precious to the history of African Americans, Darrah Hall is faithfully preserved and beloved for being one of America’s first schools for slaves who were freed during the Lincoln Administration.
