Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica is a couples' adventure getaway in the rain forest of Peru. Located on an ecological reserve, the property has been hosting guests since 1978. There are 30 private cabanas and 3 suites built with local materials in native style. Each bungalow is on stilts, complete with a terrace, hammocks, a single bedroom, mosquito nets and a private bathroom with filtered water. The rooms have no electricity or hot water (with the exception of the three Amazonica Suites which have solar heated showers).

A two-story wooden pavilion houses the dining room, bar, the main lounge and a mezzanine with rainforest views. The property is ideally located for a wildlife watching adventure - spot different wildlife species, ranging from giant macaws, to toucans, parrots, tapirs, owls, the Southern Amazon Red Squirrels, as well as a large variety of monkeys. Daily commercial flights connect Puerto Maldonado with Lima (a two-hour flight time) and Cusco (35 minutes).

Once you reach the Puerto Maldonado airport, take the bus to the city's river port, and then take a outboard motorboat to the lodge. It is about an hour-long canoe ride (15 Km. or 9 miles) downriver from Puerto Maldonado.
