Review:
Verde Vineyards is a picturesque winery and vineyard overlooking Scituate's beautiful Moswansicut Lake. The winery, which strives to highlight the bounty of the New England growing region, crafts all of its small-batch wines using traditional winemaking techniques, including open fermentation processes and oak barrel aging. Many of the company's wines have won awards at prestigious wine competitions such as the Big E Northeast Wine Competition. Visitors can stop by the vineyard Friday through Sunday afternoons and sample wines such as the company's Cayuga White, Surveyor, Chardonnay, Bianco d'Amelia, and St. Croix varietals and blends. After tastings, guests can purchase bottles of wine for enjoying on picnics within the vineyard's spacious grounds.
