Review:

The Reading Room Restaurant is a casual oceanfront dining spot at the gorgeous Bar Harbor Inn, overseen by executive chef Louis Kiefer since 1998. The seasonal restaurant, which offers up beautiful ambiance with views of nearby Frenchman's Bay, focuses on Downeast Maine cuisine options at breakfast and dinner daily, including delectable land and sea entrees such as chargrilled petit filet mignon paired with Maine lobster tail, Frenchman's Bay seafood cioppino, basil pistachio-crusted native Maine halibut, roasted rack of New Zealand lamb prepared with red currant jus, and baked chicken Florentine stuffed with artichoke and spinach. All entree options are available with suggested fine wine pairings for an additional charge. At breakfast, diners can choose from delicious house specialties such as cinnamon roll French toast or enjoy Downeast favorites such as Maine lobster Benedict and wild Maine blueberry pancakes. Reservations and business-casual attire are strongly recommended.
