Review:

The Middletown and Hummelstown Railroad is a popular short line railroad operating freight and tourist passenger trains between Middletown and Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. The Railroad uses steam as well as diesel locomotives for passenger excursions and vintage 1920s coaches. Passengers board at the 1891 freight station in Middletown for a fun 11-mile long scenic round-trip excursion along the Union Canal and Swatara Creek. A narrator entertains passengers by relating history of the canal and sites the train passes by during the trip. Light refreshments are available on-board. All proceeds from the snack bar go to preservation of the railroad. After ending the trip, passengers can visit an exhibition of the heritage railway rolling stock displayed at Middletown Yard.
