Made up entirely of volunteer staff and Trustees, the Middletown Area Historical Society of Dauphin County in Middletown, Pennsylvania is a not-for-profit organization that has been a part of the community since 1974. With a dedication of collecting, preserving, and teaching about the area’s history, the historical society operates its own museum through the work of amazing volunteers. The museum is generally open every Wednesday morning, as well as by appointment. There is no fee for admission, however, donations are greatly appreciated. The Middletown Area Historical Society also manages the Band Hall and the historic Swatara Ferry House.
