The historic Two Mile House is a shining example of a Federal limestone residence. Named for its distance from the town square, Two Mile house was built in 1820 and was known as the James Given Tavern from 1826 to 1857. The lovely old building contains 12 rooms, ten of which boast fireplaces, and is surrounded by 5 acres of landscaped gardens. The building was bequeathed to the Cumberland Country Historical Society in 1992. Since then the gracious old building has been used as a venue for many weddings and events. If you would like to tour the house you will need to phone to make arrangements. The gardens free-to-visit and are open to the public daily.
