The largest lake located entirely within the state of New York, Oneida Lake is approximately 21 miles long and 5 miles wide. The lake is relatively shallow and gets quite warm during the summer months, making it an excellent destination for swimming, boating, and other watersports. There are also plenty of walleye and bass to be found here, and people come to fish throughout the year. One of the most popular spots on the lake is Sylvan Beach, which offers plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops as well as an amusement park that provides nighttime ghost tours.
