A popular attraction in the Finger Lakes for photography enthusiasts, the George Eastman Museum in the city of Rochester, New York is the oldest photography museum in the world, as well as one of the world’s oldest film archives. The collection is housed inside the former home of George Eastmant, who was a pioneer in film and photography. The museum, and National Historic Landmark, pays tribute to the history of motion picture film and photography, showcasing both temporary and permanent exhibits, as well as featuring a 500-seat theater that shows over three hundred films every year and an extensive library.
