Review:

The Enlightenment Wines Meadery, the first meadery of New York City, has been focused on producing small batches of meads made with locally sourced fruit, foraged herbs, and wild yeast since its beginnings in 2009. The honey-based wines created by Enlightenment Wines are dry wines, not sweet wines as some may expect since they’re made with honey. The meads features about twelve percent alcohol, are fermented in barrels, and released on a seasonal basis. Visitors to the cocktail bar and tasting room, aptly referred to as Honey’s, can sample some of these honey-based wines starting at 5:00pm.
