Havens Beach , which is found less than a kilometer from Sag Harbor's center, features a short coastline with golden sand and blue water. It's also know to not be too crowded. Popular activities at Havens Beach include sunbathing, swimming, sea kayaking,and SUP-surfing. Located near the road, the beach is easy to access and there is no fee to visit this public beach. Amenities include a gazebo, bathrooms, and a playground. Sag Harbor has a history of being an important recreational spot and beach among the African American community, with African Americans settling in the area during the 1800s.
