Bryson City Island Park is a much-loved recreational area located on a small island in the Tuckasegee River, which runs through the town. People come to the park to enjoy walking, hiking, bird watching and nature observation. Leashed dogs are welcome in the park and many people bring along their 4-legged friends. Other popular activities including kayaking, canoeing, SUP and fly fishing. It is also possible to go snorkeling in the river to observe the large variety of underwater creatures you would normally never see.
