Yopparai is an intimate Japanese-style izakaya in Manhattan's Lower East Side, offering 30 seats in a modern, cozy dining space designed by world-renowned architect Richard Bloch. The restaurant pays tribute to traditional Japanese culinary methods, offering a high-quality menu of fare such as fresh sashimi, chinmi snacks, and Tokyo-style oden soul food fare. Couples can enjoy Japanese barbecue entrees such as tsukune, butakushi, and Jidori livers or select from rice and noodle entrees such as yaki onigiri, seiro meshi, or inaniwa udon. Simmered clay pot dishes such as ebi shinjo and anago yanagawa are also available, served with white rice. Licensed sommeliers are on hand to help diners select from a wide variety of imported fine sakes, served in traditional Japanese glassware at ideal temperatures.
