When I visited Biloxi, I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I'm not sure exactly what I expected... But...set right on the Mississippi Sound, this vibrant coastal city felt like the perfect blend of Southern charm, ease, and a dash of casino fun. I could smell the salty air the moment I arrived, and that soft Gulf breeze never let up.
With its white-sand shoreline stretching for miles and the sound of waves gently lapping the shore, Biloxi is the kind of place that lets you breathe a little deeper.

Biloxi, MS Lighthouse, Fishing and More
I wandered the beach barefoot, soaking in views of barrier islands like Cat and Ship Island in the distance. Sunbathers, families, and fishermen all shared the sand, but it never felt crowded, just calm and welcoming. Fishing here isn’t just an activity, it’s part of the culture. If you’re into fishing, Biloxi makes that just as easy, with plenty of space to cast a line without boarding a boat.
There’s even a Photoshoot Package I came across here...a fun way to capture those salt-kissed, sun-drenched vacation moments.

Biloxi Lighthouse and waterfront at twilight
One of my favorite spots was the Biloxi Lighthouse, a quiet but commanding presence right along Highway 90. Climbing those 57 steps was a bit of a workout, but the panoramic view from the top? Absolutely worth it. From up there, you can really take in just how special this coastline is—wide, warm, and welcoming.

My Final Thoughts About a Biloxi Beach Vacation
Biloxi may be known for its casinos and entertainment, but for me, it was about the simple things: the rhythm of the tides, the friendly conversations with locals, and the way each sunset lit up the water in gold and pink.
My highlight? The oceanview lunch at Shaggy’s Biloxi Beach, just steps from the sand. I had the fish tacos with mango salsa and a side of hush puppies, plus a frozen piña colada. The vibe was laid-back and lively, with beach tunes playing and seagulls overhead. Between the breezy patio and bold coastal flavors, it was everything a beach day meal should be.
Whether you’re there for the action or the quiet moments in between, Biloxi has a way of making you feel like you belong. Check out my things to do in Biloxi article for more ideas.
