Burlington is a small town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, settled in 1641. Although today Burlington is a suburban industrial town in great Boston area, until recently Burlington was entirely agricultural, growing rye and curing hams for Boston shops. Several of the original homesteads are still standing. Burlington has beautiful downtown with Mary Cummings Park, Town Common and Simonds Park in the center of town. The Burlington Public Library and the Burlington Historical Museum are also located downtown. There are several conservation areas around town, including The Mill Pond Conservation Area and Mary Cummings Park. Burlington also has several large shopping centers including Burlington Mall, one of the largest malls in the state.
