Located in the Hagerstown City Park, the Mansion House Art Gallery, Valley Art Association is a beautiful Georgian-style mansion house with a large wrap-around porch made from bricks and native limestone that serves as the headquarters for the Valley Art Association. Built by John Heyser in 1846, the mansion overlooks a lovely lake inhabited by swans and houses an art gallery showcasing the works of over 20 local artists. The Mansion House Art Gallery is also used as a meeting place for the Valley Art Association and a location for art classes and workshops. The Mansion House Art Center is open year-round, and the gardens are perfect for picnicking.
