Review:

The Wilson Museum can be found along the waterfront of Castine, around a half-mile west from the dock. This unique museum is home to an excellent fossil collection, along with an array of global artifacts that were made by various indigenous cultures. The Wilson Museum’s main gallery features objects from Oceania, North America, South America, and Africa that were acquired by Dr. John Howard Wilson, a geologist, during his travels. Visitors can view the planet’s “evolution of life,” documented by trilobites 270 million years old, elaborate Umbundu headdresses, anthropomorphic Peruvian pottery, writing tablets from the ancient Mediterranean, and much more.
