The Belfast Historical Society & Museum dedicates itself to collecting, conserving, preserving, and interpreting a wide array of artifacts related to the history of Belfast, Maine. Guests at the museum can explore interpretive displays, postcard collections, maps, vintage photographs, and much more. There is also a library and an extensive archive collection for research purposes. Permanent exhibits at the Belfast Historical Society and Museum include the Museum Barn Exhibit, 19th Century Apothecary, Artist Percy Sanborn, and Maritime History. The museum also offers self-guided walking tours highlighting commercial structures, churches, and houses of architectural and historical interest in the Historic District.
