Housed inside the building that served as the “Birthplace of Eunice” in 1893 to 1894, the Eunice Depot Museum specializes in Cajun culture. It was at this site that C.C. Duson named the small town after his wife and sold the first sites of land. The old depot building was converted into a museum in 1984 and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its historic significance to the area. Collections at the Eunice Depot Museum include Louisiana Indian life, Cajun life, pioneer farming, Cajun Mardi Gras history, railroad items, old toys, and Cajun music.
