Located adjacent to the town’s Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, the Liberty Center is considered by many to be one of the town’s “must stops,” especially for anyone interested in Zydeco or Cajun music. Every Saturday, visitors and local residents alike can catch such shows, and if they don’t know French, it’s not a problem. The artists who perform at the Liberty Theater speak in both French and English. The admission to the show, which is a live radio show, at one of the most iconic concert halls in Louisiana is reasonably priced, as well as the drinks and popcorn.

2. Prairie Acadian Cultural Center

The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice, Louisiana is perhaps the best place for visitors to learn about the rich Cajun and Acadian culture of the region. A number of displays covering a variety of aspects of the area’s artwork, cuisine, musical culture, and Cajun life can be seen throughout the center. On Saturdays, visitors can also experience many different Cajun cooking demonstrations, crafts, and music. While there is no fee for admission to the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, donations are always appreciated and a donation box can be found near the entrance to the cultural center.

3. Eunice Depot Museum

Housed inside the building that served as the “Birthplace of Eunice” in 1893 to 1894, the Eunice Depot Museum specializes in Cajun culture. It was at this site that C.C. Duson named the small town after his wife and sold the first sites of land. The old depot building was converted into a museum in 1984 and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its historic significance to the area. Collections at the Eunice Depot Museum include Louisiana Indian life, Cajun life, pioneer farming, Cajun Mardi Gras history, railroad items, old toys, and Cajun music.

4. Savoy Music Center

The Savoy Music Center is named after Marc Savoy, a famed American musician known throughout the region for making accordions and for playing Cajun music. Marc has acquired a number of connoisseurs and fans from throughout the world. In 1965, he opened the music center in Eunice and the store has grown into a renowned, famous spot over the years for interested travelers and local musicians. The Savoy Music Center has become a destination for music fans, offering a look at the famous accordion craftsman’s studio, as well as an extensive collection of music CDs, gifts, and books available for purchase.
