Review & FAQ:
Set against a spectacular backdrop of towering snow-white cliffs, Scala dei Turchi, Sicily is a narrow strip of golden sand which separates the stunning cliffs from the azure waters of the Mediterranean Ocean. The remarkable cliffs are composed of ancient sedimentary rocks which have been shaped by wind and water for centuries. Located in the town of Realmonte, in the Agrigento region, this beach is believed to have been used by plundering pirates in ancient times, hence the name which translates as “stairs of the Turks”. You can access the beach by walking down the cliffs along a series of steps and paths.
