Believed by some to be the Garden of Eden, the Vallee de Mai is a breathtaking palm forest in the heart of Praslin Island. The lush tropical forest includes six species of palm trees found nowhere else but the Seychelles, including approximately 6,000 coco de mer trees. The forest was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, and it is often called one of the botanical wonders of the world. Three short but well-marked walking trails wind their way through the forest.
