As the main recreational harbor on Faial Island, the Marina da Horta is one of the most visited locations in the area and provides guests with exciting sailing related activities and opportunities.
One of the most unique features of the harbor are the hundreds of paintings that cover the walls and grounds of the breakwaters, quays and docs.
The paintings were made by captains sailing in and out of the Marina da Horta and is a byproduct of what can only be described as a sailor’s superstition. Another exciting thing about the Marina da Horta is that it’s the staging point for exciting transatlantic regattas.
