Donated to the city of Muscatine in 1907 by James Weed, Weed Park is a 72-acre green space that is perfect for a quick afternoon stroll or an enjoyable group outing. The park features a relaxing 3-acre lagoon that is home to a number of waterfowl like ducks and geese. Weed Park is also home to the Muscatine Aquatic Center, which features a public pool and a water play structure for kids, the Zoo Garden, which has beautiful sculptures of animals, and the Muscatine Rose Garden which grows 20 different kinds of roses in numerous colors. Other attractions include lighted sandpit volleyball courts, picnic areas, a bandstand, and ten tennis courts.
