The Amarbayasgalant Monastery is one of the largest and most prominent in Mongolia, and it is a must-see in northern Mongolia. Built in the 18th century and containing over forty temples, this monastery is gorgeous both inside and out, as it was built in a Chinese architectural style and restored by UNESCO after it was partially destroyed by communists in the 1930s.
