The Holy Family Shrine, found just off of Interstate 80, was created with the idea of providing travelers with a place to “pray and discover the Catholic faith.” The tranquil retreat is a glass shrine located on approximately twenty-three acres that overlooks the surrounding Platte Valley. Guests can experience the Holy Family Shrine as high up as nearly 50 feet, with the stone entry framed by arching members of wood. The sight of the shrine appears almost like “spirits in the heavens,” offering an expansive view of the valley and prairie beyond, with the prairie grass embracing the chapel’s glass walls.
