The Grove Community Playmakers, Inc. was founded in 1995 in Grove, Oklahoma, by Suzanne and Jim Boles. The program of The Playmakers includes four annual productions per season, which resulted in 114 plays in the theatre’s 22 years, combining comedy, drama, mystery, musicals, and youth plays. A Readers’ Theatre produces mostly short comedies, but sometimes one-acts, with 94 performances of plays in this format so far. A Comprehensive Youth Theatre program introduces theatre to all Grove Public School students, through classroom programs and performance opportunities. The Playmakers Theatre also offers additional after-school program of workshops and activities for those interested.
