Stretching for 26 miles from Blue Ridge to the charming town of McCaysville, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is a historic railroad that was originally built to carry freight through the mountains. It's been operating as a passenger railway since 1998, and it's a wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and the Toccoa River, particularly in the fall when the autumn leaves put on a colorful show.

The trip takes approximately one hour each way, and passengers are also given a two-hour layover to explore McCaysville and its Tennessee sister town Copperhill. Trains run between March and December.
