Founded in 2007 in Rwanda, Bourbon Coffee has grown to include eight coffee shop locations throughout Rwanda and now the United States, including one location in the historic Georgetown district of Washington, DC. The international specialty coffee brand is actually the first retail brand to have originated in Africa. The coffee shop is built around the idea of producing “naturally crop to cup” coffee. While the company shares its coffee with the rest of the world, it also promotes sustainable practices, cultural unity, and economic development, as well as helping with reshaping Rwanda’s global image, its culture, and its economic development.
