Charlottesville is a city in central Virginia that is home to a population of more than 150,000 throughout its metropolitan region, known as a popular tourist destination in the Blue Ridge Mountains region. It is best known as the home of two early American Presidents, James Monroe and Thomas Jefferson, and as the site of the University of Virginia, which was designed in large part by Jefferson.
