Review & FAQ:

The impressive Lowell Creek Waterfall is a man-made gusher which was built to re-route Lowell Creek, which previously flooded downtown Seward on a regular basis. In a formidable feat of engineering, the U.S. Marine Corps of Engineers diverted the creek through a reinforced tunnel under Bear Mountain back in 1940. The tunnel is 10 foot in diameter and 2,068 feet long. The best place to view the waterfall is from the lookout on Lowell Creek Road which can be reached by driving south along Seaward Highway. There is a parking area near the Lowell Creek Bridge. The waterfall is particularly impressive after a heavy downpour.
