Bordering the Wedgewood Resort, the Wedgewood Wildlife Sanctuary is a wonderful green space where the whole family can enjoy wildlife observation. There are 2 flat trails to follow – both of which are suitable for buggies or wheelchairs – and plenty of scenic places to stop and enjoy the surrounding forest. You have a good chance of catching a glimpse of several species of unusual mammals including moose, red foxes, flying squirrels or snowshoe hares and over 100 species of birds are regularly spotted in the sanctuary. If you happen to visit between August and April, you also have a good chance of seeing the elusive Northern Lights.
