Winter Park is located in Orange County, central Florida. As the name indicates, the city was once almost purely a winter bolt hole for people wanting to escape the harsh northern winters, but today visitors come all year round to enjoy the thriving arts and culture scene and the abundance of outdoor activities. Weekenders can attend one of the regular festivals and events that take place in the city’s seventy parks, visit some interesting museums and art galleries, enjoy live theatre and concerts, or tour the Hannibal Square Historic Neighborhood. Outdoor activities include canoeing and kayaking, hiking, cycling, fishing, golfing, and boating.
