Historic Sag Harbor, NY has long been a popular weekend retreat for New Yorkers wanting to relax and feel the sea breezes in their hair.

Sag Harbor was settled around 1700, and today the town is home to an extensive collection of beautifully preserved historic buildings that now house a variety of interesting small-town shops and galleries.

There are a couple of interesting museums to visit on rainy days, including the Sag Harbor Whaling and Historic Museum and the Custom House Museum.

The pull of the ocean is evident everywhere you go in Sag Harbor so it is hardly surprising that sailing, fishing charters, and scenic cruises are highly popular.

Other popular activities include golfing, boating, kayaking, and wildlife watching.
